Part 1: A War Begins

One day, in Heaven, as Sharky and Fishy were playing, Sharky hurled a vulgarity at Fishy in a fit of anger after Fishy had accidentally injured Sharky by hurling a heavenly fireball at him.

Enraged, Fishy banished Sharky to the Third Earth.

However, as Fishy had entered blind rage, and because of his immense power, he did not even take a second to think about the consequences of his actions.

As Sharky was of the same size as Canada his entire body slammed to the Earth, covering the entirety of Canada and becoming one with the ground. All of its inhabitants were buried alive. The whole world entered a state of confusion as nations across the world debated as to who the now barren land mass of Canada should go to.

After a week of debating, a UN resolution was passed that returned the land to the 100,000 Canadians that were on overseas trips when Sharky covered Canada.

However, 90,000 of these Canadians chose to simply settle in other countries, mostly the United States.

As a result, the new Canadian nation was formed with 10,000 people, but disputes arose as to who the leader should be.

6,000 people supported the Liberal Party and 4,000 people supported the Conservative Party.

As a result, the Liberal Party rose to power.

Debate also ensued as to whether the British monarch should be the head of state of the new Canadian nation. Since the Liberals, who supported constitutional monarchy, made up the majority of the country’s population, a constitutional monarchy was adopted. Feeling underrepresented and unimportant in the new Canadian nation, the Conservatives migrated to the United States.

However, Canada had zero infrastructure and would not be able to thrive without help from foreign powers. It asked the UK and the US for help.

Britain accepted the offer, but requested that Canada become a British dominion.

This angered the United States, who felt like the UK was trying to assert its influence in the area.

Keeping to the Monroe Doctrine, the United States warned the UK not to make Canada a British colony.

USA also agreed to help Canada, but requested that it be given the provinces of Alberta, Saskatchewan and Newfoundland.

UK urged Canada not to accept the offer, but not wanting to be invaded by the USA, the Canadian government accepted the offer of the United States.

Wanting to escape the political tension, 2000 people migrated to America.

UK and USA built up Canada over the next few decades, but demanded more and more control over Canada as Ottawa was designated as the capital of the new nation. Canada became a British colony, angering the USA, which told Britain to withdraw troops from Canada. Britain refused, and USA declared war on the UK, fracturing the NATO alliance.

5000 more Canadians migrated to the USA, wanting to escape the incoming war, bringing the total population of Canada down to 5000.

Part 2: War in Canada

However, many Canadians were also not happy with fighting on the British side, as many of them saw the Americans as brothers. As a result, Canadians in Ottawa staged a rebellion and proclaimed the Republic of Canada, bringing down the British flag at the Royal Palace and replacing it with a Canadian one. They also appointed a president to replace the monarch.

Seeing this, some royal guards stationed there opened fire on the civilians, marking the beginning of the Canadian War of Independence.

However, some royal guards there were also from Canada themselves, and feeling sympathy for their own people, they opened fire on their comrades. As the British soldiers died, one by one, the remaining civilians on the Canadian side picked up their guns and also opened fire on the British soldiers who were all massacred within minutes.

The whole event took only 10 minutes, but marked the beginning of the Canadian War of Independence. Ottawa was now under control of the new Canadian government.

With the Americans on the side of the Canadian separatists, they

invaded British Canada, citing the Canadian War of Independence as a reason. However, their true aim was to take over as much of Canada as possible. From Alaska and Alberta, they took over Yukon and British Columbia. From Saskatchewan and Alberta, they took over Northwest Territories. From Newfoundland, they took over the 3 territories.

The Americans completed all this within 10 days.

During this time, the Canadian separatists had brought the entirety of Ontario and Quebec under their control. With British defences now amped up in Nunavut, the Canadians and Americans could not take that province, also because it was very cold and difficult to get through.

Wanting to maintain good relations with the Americans, the Canadians let the Americans take Manitoba.

The following day, the Canadians, Americans and British gathered in Ottawa, the capital of the Canadian Republic, to decide the fate of Canada.

Britain asked for peace, but was asked to surrender the Kitikmeot and Kivalliq regions to USA. Britain was extremely unhappy about this, as it had already lost 10,000 men in the war and 90% of its colony in Canada.

However, as it was already at the losing end of the war, Britain’s representative in Canada accepted the offer, which meant that the colony of British Canada was now confined to only the Qikiqtaaluk region, which made up about 10% of Canada’s total landmass.

USA also told the Republic of Canada to give Quebec to it. Although the Republic of Canada did not want to do so, it had no choice.

As a result of this, the Republic of Canada only had control over Ontario and renamed itself to the Republic of Ontario. 1000 people on the Canadian side died during the war, and the 2000 inhabitants of Quebec opted to become American citizens after the war, bringing the population of the Republic of Ontario to 2000.

Part 3: The Aftermath

As a result, each Ontarian family got about 2000 sq km of land to live in and there were 500 families in the new nation. Government buildings took up about 0.1 million sq km, which made up 9% of the country. The size of each family’s land was 200 sq km smaller than Tokyo. Each civilian and politician family’s land took up 0.18% of the country. The president’s family was given 0.9% of the country, and the prime minister’s family was also given 0.9% of the country.

The remaining 7.2% of the country is made up of government buildings, places of worship and cities designed to attract tourists. The major industries in the new nation are fishing, farming and tourism.

All islands in the country are owned by the government except for Manitoulin Island. 72% of Manitoulin Island is owned by the Manitoulin family and the remaining 28% is owned by the government.

The flag adopted by the new nation is the same as the current Canadian flag.

Both civilians and rulers lived a jolly life in the new nation with so much land for themselves.

This new nation would have a land area of 1.1 million sq km, which was slightly bigger than British Canada’s 0.99 million sq km.

USA now owned about 80% of Canada and became the largest nation in the world by land area, with an area of 17.81 million sq km, as opposed to Russia’s 17.1 million sq km.

And that is the story of a new nation.

~THE END~
