Unlike the SDP-Bahamas, the NSDP-Bahamas had control over land. This land was the uninhabited Cat Island. Jose was made vice-president of the NSDP-Bahamas. During a party meeting the next day, the governor of Cat Island died of a heart attack. As a result, Jose became the second president of the NSDP-Bahamas.

His first move as president of the NSDP-Bahamas was to establish the Social Democratic Republic of Bahamas ( SDRB ). He then made Davis his vice-president.

Jose became the first president of the SDRB and made Davis his vice-president, while the other members of the NSDP-Bahamas became the other political leaders of the SDRB. However, the SDRB only had one political party, which attracted communists in the DRB ( although Davis was the only communist in the NSDP-Bahamas at the time ).

More and more communists from the DRB, settled in the SDRB, and joined the NSDP-Bahamas. After the NSDP-Bahamas reached the 150-member mark, it stopped accepting members. Instead, it made all state institutions and organisations aligned with the NSDP-Bahamas, and soon it developed its army, economy and 50 years later, the SDRB had an army that was as powerful as the army of the DRB.

10 years before this happened, Davis died, so the vice-presidencies of the SDRB and the NSDP-Bahamas were abolished by Jose.

Now, Jose was 70 years old and he needed to find a successor who would rule the nation with an iron fist.

The following day, an asteroid collided with the planet Bahama, killing the 10,000 people inhabiting it.

The impact caused the planet to split into two. One half landed on the island of New Providence, killing all its inhabitants that made up 80% of the DRB’s inhabitants. The asteroid bounced off into space.

What ensued next was a blanket of dust covering Grand Bahama Island.

The dust contaminated food and water, clogging water holding facilities and filling reservoirs and causing floods. In some parts of the island, the dust swirled to form a tornado that killed thousands.

After 2 weeks, everyone on the island had died, and the island continued to be unsafe for humans.

Taking advantage of the situation, Jose ordered an invasion of the DRB. The invasion was successful and only took a week.

The SDRB renamed itself to the Second Socialist Republic of the Bahamas ( SSRB ).

The SSRB used the resources of the island of New Providence, but avoided settling people there.

The SSRB also avoided Grand Bahama Island.

Soon, Jose turned 71. On his 71st birthday, he died of a heart attack.
