Infuriated, America bombed Puerto Rico. Only a thousand people survived the bombing.

Roughly six hundred of them migrated to America, while the remaining survivors settled in the capital of Cuba to avoid being found by American forces. With Cuba and America standing alone against each other, Cuba knew it stood no chance and surrendered the northern half of the Bahamas in exchange for peace. The northern half of the Bahamas became an American protectorate. A year later, it gained independence from America as the Republic of North Bahamas. Border skirmishes at the border lying between North Bahamas and southern Bahamas caused the construction of the Bahamas wall, which separated North Bahamas from southern Bahamas, whose people wanted independence. The revolts got so bad, that the islands of Eleuthera and Cat were granted independence. The islands of Eleuthera and Cat formed a united government that ruled both islands, establishing a new nation called the Republic of South Bahamas. Unhappy with the democratic government of South Bahamas, President Rodriguez facilitated the deposition of the South Bahamian prime minister, replacing him with a dictator that was loyal to the Cuban government. This new communist South Bahamian government brainwashed children, ensuring the loyalty of future generations to the new regime. Eventually, the regime became so powerful that it demanded control over the rest of the Bahamas. Its demand was fulfilled by the Cuban government.

After decades of mass murder, corruption, harsh policies and communist rule, South Bahamas had become a global superpower, with the 5th highest GDP in the world. The South Bahamian government channelled a large part of its income into the development and production of highly destructive missiles. In the blink of an eye, it produced a hundred missiles and sent them to destroy the North Bahamas. The land of North Bahamas sunk into the ocean due to the impact, and the Bahamas Wall became dust. The dust clumped together and spun to form a round object that was 25 times lesser than Pluto. This new planet would be named Bahama, and was only 2 metres away from South Bahamas, which renamed itself to the Socialist Republic of Bahamas ( SRB ) after destroying North Bahamas. Only 3 people survived the missile strike. 2 of the survivors ended up in the SRB while one ended up in Miami. The survivors who ended up in the SRB were made slaves of the SRB government, while the survivor who ended up in Miami was granted freedom. This survivor would come to be known as the Free Bahamian as he was the only Bahamian not officially under the control of the SRB government. The Free Bahamian studied in Harvard University, became the mayor of Miami and helped promote North Bahamian culture in America.

He had a half-Bahamian son who contracted cancer and died at the age of 12.

The Free Bahamian was getting old and he wanted someone to continue his legacy as he did not wish to be the last free Bahamian. However, his wish never came true for decades after his death, which was orchestrated by the SRB government. At the time of the Free Bahamian’s death, the dictator of the SRB was 60 years old. In the SRB, the maximum age of the president was 70, so the dictator of the SRB began searching for a successor. He chose his 40 year old son to be his successor, but his son died in a car crash at the age of 49. Heartbroken, the dictator of the SRB resorted to drinking. He became an ineffective leader and his regime began to collapse as a nationwide revolution broke out in the SRB. Anti-SRB politicians from across the country rallied together and formed a rebel army that seized the capital and proclaimed the Democratic Republic of the Bahamas ( DRB ). The dictator of the SRB, his government and his supporters fled to Cat Island where they sued for peace, surrendering all of their Bahamian territory to the DRB, which inherited a lot of the SRB’s wealth. Half of this wealth was given back to the citizens of the DRB.
